Lockdown 2.full

On Saturday it was announced that as of Thursday 5th November England will begin a second lockdown period to last until the 2nd of December.

In order to help prevent the spread of coronavirus the Government has taken the following actions:

  • Requiring people to stay at home, except for specific purposes.
  • Preventing gathering with people you do not live with, except for specific purposes.
  • Closing certain businesses and venues.

This will unfortunately again mean that holiday accommodation will be required to close. They have stated that 'Hotels, hostels and other accommodation should only open for those who have to travel for work purposes and for a limited number of other exemptions which will be set out in law.'

There is also an exemption for those whose holiday has already started before the 5th of November: 'Inbound international travel will continue to be governed by the travel corridor approach, and those currently on a domestic holiday will be allowed to finish their holidays, but are still subject to the requirements in England not to go out without a reasonable excuse.'
