We are often asked by potential customers how long it will take us to develop their website, often with the timeline being as soon as possible.
The truth to this is that we will take as long as it takes for you to provide us with all of the information required such as content, images, existing bookings, pricing etc.
Parkinson's Law is the old adage that work expands to fill the time allotted. Put simply, the amount of work required adjusts to the time available for its completion.
So in essesnce if you set a deadline and stick to your end of the agreement we can have your website up and running in less than a day!
We often have customers who come to us and want a website 'now' but then the development ends up dragging out over a number of months due to delays in us being provided with the content. We understand that this can't always be helped, for example you may be waiting for a sunny day to take some pictures however we can get the website ready to go for as soon as these things are in place.
If you would like you website to be ready ASAP our advice would be
- Make a plan: Once we have provided you with a list you can then allocate time to each thing on the list. Here is our list of things we require to get your website up and running.
- Consider using external suppliers: For example if you don't have the time to write the content, we can put you in touch with a copywriter who can help write the wording for your site.
- Be prepared to make a change: there will never be a perfect time to switch over from a current provider especially if you are using a different system to manage all of your bookings. Remember you are switching systems to make managing your property easier in the long term. You have to allow for time to learn a new method of doing thigs but of course the more you use somehting the easier it will become.
