As we come to the end of another great year, it’s time to look back at the success of SCRUMPY in 2017. It has been exciting to see both our own business and our clients' businesses grow over the course of the year.

This year SCRUMPY has grown by 62% and our continuing success has driven us to develop new features to keep making property owners lives easier and their businesses more successful.

Updates

This year we have done several updates, a major one being our all new backing infrastructure which will enable us to continue to grow. We have made over a thousand changes, tweaks and added dozens of new features. Big updates in 2017 included:

  • Property Specific Chargeable Extras
  • Property Agreements
  • iCal Feeds for House Keepers
  • Automated Bounce Back & Complaint Handling

We are committed to continuously improving the platform to deliver more enquires, convert more bookings and increase business efficiency.

Year in Review

Booking Volume

Once again Bookings peaked in January with customers booking their Summer breaks. With January being such a busy month for people booking holidays, we strongly recommend that you take a look at our blog post on how to make the most out of your holiday property website this January in order to prepare for the big rush.  The average booking value in 2017 was £1635

Property Diversity

This year the number of different types of property on SCRUMPY has doubled. In 2016 our most popular property type was 'house'. This year 'cottage' has overtaken 'house' to become 2017's most popular property type.

Visitor Browsing Methods

In the past 12 months, as predicted, the amount of mobile users viewing SCRUMPY websites has continued to rise. 62% of SCRUMPY users this year were on a mobile device, this is a 20% increase on 2016. Desktop users have decreased by 31% and now only make up 20% of users. Tablet use has stayed the same throughout the year making up 18% of the total users.

Visitor Demographics

This year SCRUMPY websites have recieved traffic from 186 different countries.

25-34 year olds are the age group viewing SCRUMPY websites the most at 27% and a massive 72% of visitors are female.

The busiest day of the week is a Sunday with Friday being the quietest. A typical visitor is a 30 year old British, English speaking woman visiting on a Sunday using an iPhone.

Sneak Peak at 2018

As you may be aware we can no longer give you a 'sneak peak' of what's to come as we have made our feature roadmap public so our customers can always see upcoming features. To view upcoming features and timescales go to roadmap.scrumpy.co.uk.

Recommend a friend for money off

Dont forget that we’ll give you 10% of the business generated by any clients you refer to us off your Scrumpy bill. We are seeing a good uptake already with several clients reducing their monthly bill. Our referral program even offers the possibility that we could end up paying you each month! If you know of anyone with a holiday property, whether they’re just starting out or whether they are an established agency, we’d love to talk to them. You can either forward their details on to us or use the 'Refer a Friend' section of your admin.
