Frequently Asked Questions

What’s included? - A brand new website with tools for direct bookings, including availability calendars, guest portal, online payments, booking management, automated emails, housekeeper portal and website content management. Inclusive of hosting and encryption, totally free for the length of the trial, all accessed via logging into your own site.

How does it work? - Sign up for a free trial and populate your new website via our easy to use site builder. If you already have a site or online presence let us know and we can work alongside you to make your new site. Whilst we don’t know your property, if you can provide us with written descriptions, images and why someone would want to stay at your holiday let, we can help.

I’m not tech savvy - We are a friendly team of experts and real people, on hand to assist wherever possible with help available at the end of the phone or via email. Our user friendly system has been built with you in mind, plus we’ve got lots of guides and tips at help.scrumpy.co.uk 

What happens to my domain name? - You can transfer the domain to us, which we can then manage on your behalf, with the ownership remaining in your name. Or alternatively, we can provide instructions for you to point your domain to your new SCRUMPY website. You can also purchase new domains from us too. The choice is yours - don’t hesitate to ask if you are unsure.

What if I need a domain? - We can acquire domain names for your website if required, which will be registered in your ownership. If after the trial you become a paying customer, the domain will be free of charge. If however, you do not take up our services after the trial, the domain will be chargeable; prices vary for different suffixes, with a .co.uk being £15 (plus VAT) for 2 years and a .com at £35 (plus VAT) for 2 years.

What happens to my existing website? - By opting to use our services, we will be providing you with a new website. In most cases this will replace your existing site, but can also be set up on a new domain. If you are keeping your options open and want the choice to revert back after the trial, we’d recommend asking your provider for a copy of your old website.

What is Shortbreaks.com? - We provide all users of our platform with a complimentary listing on www.shortbreaks.com, our very own listing site powered by SCRUMPY, to which all properties are automatically shared. There is no commission structure or booking fees, it’s simply another way for our clients to get more direct bookings. You can find out more here

When do I make the first payment? - No payment details are necessary during the trial. To continue using the service after this period, we will require a monthly payment based on your property or properties. Prior to the expiry of the trial, we will ask that you securely enter a debit or credit card, where we will attempt the first payment request if you’d like to continue with us.

Do you have alternative price plans? - You may choose to downgrade to our Lite offering, without the use of our availability calendars, online bookings, guest portal or booking management; yet still take advantage of our website platform and promotion via shortbreaks.com. I want to cancel - We are confident in our services and how they can help your self catering business. If however you are not happy with the results, you can walk away, no strings attached.
